I found the Sanity x ABCT: Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey through the Apple podcast app but I was also excited to notice that it was also available on Spotify as well as Youtube. This was helpful because I was able to listen to it through Youtube and could reference transcript through Spotify if I needed to. Dr. Allison Harvey made some interesting points emphasizing the importance of sleep and the circadian rhythm. The part that stood out to me the most was how it was referenced that young adults should be getting more sleep, about 8 and a half to 9 hours every night. I knew that teenagers and young adults needed more sleep but I didn’t realize how much more. This podcast could inform my work because teaching patients to adjust their sleeping schedule may make a substancial difference in their mental health. I think this episode could be used as a teaching tool because people can learn what changes can be made whether it be dimming the lights, cutting off as much caffeine, or going to sleep at the same time every night. I can't wait to see all of the other collaborations that ABCT decides to do!

I listened to the Sanity x ABCT episode 1: What to do about Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy. I found this podcast to be very helpful as I often am someone who worries constantly about pretty much everything. They explained exactly what worry is and how it can affect certain people. I found it interesting how he had said that we often accept things that happen even when they don’t go our way because we are able to understand that it is out of our control. He related this back to the way we should be thinking about our worries and that you can’t stress about your future put your past. Overall I thought this episode was very helpful and I will definitely be listening to more!
Sanity x ABCT OCD Assessment and Treatment with Dr. Jonathan Abramowitz

After listening to the OCD episode on your podcast, I am pleased to hear how educational the discussion was. I love that all kinds of versions of OCD were mentioned because people assume people with this condition are obsessed with being clean. However, there is more to OCD than cleanliness. I believe more people should listen to this podcast and educate themselves about these mental health disorders so we can end the stigma. Amazing work!

I listened to the podcast Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey, came across this series from the ABCT. I enjoyed hearing and learning about sleep health with Sanity x ABCT on Apple Podcast. They talk about how much sleep you get can affect your moods during the day whether it is too much sleep or too little sleep. Your caffeine intake also messes up your sleep schedule, you make think it wears off but it will kick in randomly mid sleep. Something I’ve found most memorable about the episode was hearing how we have our own clock in our brain. When the lights are dim our nucleus stimulates melatonin due to the light conditions before bedtime. If you are looking to learn about your sleeping health you should give this podcast a listen. When you have patients try to also take a look at their sleep schedule, look at how much they sleep at night, and how many naps they may take during the day.
