Parenting Translator
I’m Dr. Cara Goodwin, child psychologist and mom of three. Parents, here’s the problem. We face questions each moment of the day about what is best for our children but we lack the time to research each and every question we face. My primary goal is to get research-backed information into your hands that is accurate, relevant, and helpful. As a parent of four young kids, I am definitely “in it” myself. Parenting Translator is where we share all the research that is important to me as a psychologist and mom and explain it in an unbiased way that can change your life and your kids’ lives today.
A great show!

Listened to the podcast last night and loved how reassuring it was! Honestly, I like BLF, but I do feel like I fall short of gentle parenting because usually when THEY are disregulated, *I* am also disregulated, and it’s hard to validate and maintain my composure during hard moments. I’m going to go back and listen to your podcast about time-outs to see if that might be a good option when everyone is feeling out-of-sorts. Thanks for this post!!!
Full of lots of detailed information!

I really enjoyed this podcast. Dr. Goodwin goes very in-depth, explaining not only the process of baby-led weaning and its effects, but even its history and controversy! I have recently followed Dr. Goodwin on multiple platforms, and I have to say that her research is always not only thorough, but also unbiased and free of judgment! Give her a chance if you haven’t already!
