In the 80s & 90's we had music, television shows & movies that showed positive representations that inspired many to get married, go to college, start careers, etc. With most of those examples gone, we're seeing the result play out in real life. We hear the phrase "Black Community" but is it really a "community" when there's no ownership, defined culture or supported businesses? With the drastic rise of homelessness and gentrification due to a lack of ownership, are we truly living in a community or just occupying space?
