Binge-Worthy Journalism at its finest!

An extremely well put together podcast about investigative journalism, family battles with the legal system, and a war between the truth and what one person can create through social media.

The first rule in listening to people who have lupus is, they always are off for whatever reason I don’t know why, but that is just the truth
Scamanda in my life
Aug 24
This podcast was an eye opener for me. I had a person in my life that I donated money to and even invited to live in my home with the intent of her being able to save money for her own place. She had an 8 year old son with her. While in my home I witnessed her spend thousands of dollars on new Amazon purchases and fill up the very large bedroom I had given her. Like Amanda, this woman was involved in community issues and had a lot of support. People did go fund me fundraisers for her. While living with me she went to the ER several times - for anxiety, I was there. On social media she posted pictures of her in the ER and lied and said she was there for other more serious medical issues or she was there for her son and how sick he was. None of it was true and I knew I had to get this person out of my home. I’m grateful to my family and friends who gave me support and who made themselves visible to her, and I got her to leave after 3 months of being with me. Cps came to me and notified me that they had an ongoing case on her, but I never witnessed child abuse or neglect. I did tell cps what she was posting on social media was false information and all the boxes from Amazon on a daily basis. I based my decision to open my home to her because so many people were saying so many wonderful things about her and she expressed concern for others. I charged her nothing for living with me and I incurred expenses for damage she did to the room. Some things went missing. When she left I felt so relieved and didn’t care that some property was missing. It could have been worse. She’s still soliciting donations on social media from others. Honestly I don’t want this person in my life ever again and to post online that she’s scamming people would be my word against hers. She has a lot of people fooled but she’s not claiming cancer. She’s claiming she’s destitute and collecting donations for that. It changed me. I believed I dodged a bullet. I don’t donate to any causes online anymore.
