The Toronto Blue Jays got an unbelievable start from Alek Manoah Sunday, they came back from a 7-1 deficit in game two, and Yusei Kikuchi pitched 8 innings in game 1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr was on fire this series, having seven hits in three games, and continues to improve at the plate. George Springer was sick for the first two games of the series, to nobody's surprise the top of the order looked dangerous at the plate, swinging to do damage and having very long and tough at-bats with Davis Schneider leading things off in both games. John Schneider saw the Blue Jays score double-digit runs for the first time this season and decided to change the lineup. The lineup he played on Sunday got two hits. The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3, snapping the Phillies’ 11-game home winning streak. This was a more typical Toronto Blue Jays game, having great starting pitching, just enough offense to keep them ahead, and a solid performance from the bullpen. Chris Bassitt had a huge bounceback game, getting swings on pitches outside of the strike zone, resulting in a ton of weak contact. Vladimir Guerrero Jr had a good day, hitting balls hard and going 3-5. The Blue Jays played some small ball in the 8th, taking advantage of hit and runs and some tough at-bats that resulted in hits. Jordan Romano did his best to try and blow the game for the Blue Jays but ended up getting a save and closing out the game for the Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays lose another game, this one being against the Philadelphia Phillies 10-1. Jose Berrios got picked apart today, giving up eight runs in his first blow-up outing of the season. The offense continues to be subpar, only manufacturing one run in the game, while allowing the Phillies starting pitcher Christopher Sanchez to breeze through 7 innings. John Schneider got kicked out in today’s game after a botched call by the third base umpire allowed Kyle Schwarber to reach base when he should have struck out. Ultimately, this led to Bryce Harper launching a grand slam into the right field seats. Overall, there is not a lot of positives to take from this game. WE NEED CHANGE. Where do we go from here? The Toronto Blue Jays lose the series 2-1 to the Washington Nationals. This was undoubtedly the worst series of the year.
