#390: Ty Keough on soccer in St. Louis, and the new MLS team
Wanted to get somebody from St. Louis to join to talk about the new MLS team, the response from the city, and the history of soccer there. Got Ty Keough, a former national team player, coach and broadcaster whose dad was one of the five St. Louis natives on the U.S. team that beat England at the 1950 World Cup. Covered a lot of ground, including Ty's family's trip to Guadalajara to see the 1970 World Cup.

Diego! Diego!
It was weird to listen to the South American commentators to favor the USMNT. Diego Luna was the bright spot v Uruguay. Wolf was lost. Vargas was outcoached. The field was terrible but that’s no excused. Subs were too late. Saludos

Absolutely love the review of the US under 20 men versus Slovakia! I learned a lot about spacing and the observations made — help put into words what I knew I was seeing.I agree so much that these young men aren’t being pushed around and they are playing soccer at an incredible level. And it’s not just one person or a couple of stars, they play so well together as a team. Also I really enjoyed paul douglas joining the group.
I’ve lost so many podcasts to foul language. This site is a treasure!!!
Consistently great observations
I never fail to enjoy the podcast. Insights are timely and on point. Great insight.
