In Episode 47 of Secret Level, we take a deep dive into Sinbad’s classic 1995 film, Shazaam! Revisiting this movie was such an incredibly fun blast from the past! The movie was directed by Joe Dante and it was such a wild and crazy movie that had an unbelievable ensemble cast! This movie went through a lot of bonkers behind-the-scenes drama, but the movie ended up being one of the best fantasy adventure films of its time, and it's beloved by everyone who has seen it! We had a blast talking about this movie, offering lots of silly commentary, and sharing some fascinating stories about the film's production.

THE GATE - We Accidentally Summoned Demons
In Episode 46 of Secret Level, we dig into the demonic hole of doom and talk about the classic 1987 horror film The Gate! This was one of our favorite horror movies as kids, and revisiting this crazy movie was a blast! So, we accidentally summoned demons who used to rule the universe to come and take over the world, and recorded this podcast! There were some fun details we learned about the making of this movie, and we were especially impressed with how they pulled off some of the visual effects. In Episode 44 of Secret Level, we discuss Peter Jackson’s classic 1996 horror comedy The Frighteners, which is a completely bonkers film, but also so much fun to watch! We offer some interesting behind-the-scenes insight on the movie and also have some fun just talking about how freakin’ weird of a film it is! This was the last feature film that Michael J. Fox starred in and it was Jackson’s first big studio film before landing The Lord of the Rings trilogy gig. This film was so different from anything we were seeing made at the time, which is why Fox signed on to star in it. We had a a lot of fun talking about it and we hope you have fun listening! Had to quit listening
I got a couple of episodes in and I had to quit. I recently started watching St. Elsewhere and when the discussion of St. Elsewhere came out a couple times I thought “no spoilers”! 😝
I’ll be back after I finish the season finale of St. E.

I found the Secret Level!
Long time fan or GeekTyrant, so I was stoked to find out they were making a podcast. (Again 😉) Joey & Billy feel like my buddies. Joey does some great deep dives into the movies they’re covering and Billy brings some great insight. Like how it affected him when he saw the movie as a kid and watching it again as a adult. I like to think I’m pretty savvy when it comes to BTS movie trivia, but I still learned a few tidbits that I didn’t know about some of my favorite movies. Give this a listen if you are a fan of 70’s & 80’s genre movies. You may learn something you didn’t know.
