    #21 Uganda, Ethically Speaking

A dose of the ethical dimension of travel is how Allan Point (https://www.instagram.com/whereis_allan/) tries to distinguish himself from other social media influencers. Our guest from France talks about his favourite experiences in Uganda (you may be surprised), learns that Lake Bunyonyi probably isn't exceptionally deep and drops a perhaps-not-so-shocking bomb on us: should recent anti-homosexuality legislation make travellers avoid Uganda? HOSTS Joe Kahiri is a Ugandan recording and performing artist and the founder of Qwela, a top Afro-fusion band. #20 The Magical Forest of Nyungwe & Mt Sabyinyo

Immersing yourself in pristine wilderness doesn't need to be a romantic fantasy. You can take the plunge too, inspired by this episode's guest, Patrick Westöö. A Swedish business development expert and a seasoned traveller, Patrick has an intriguing way of getting to know our planet. He makes abrupt destination choices but then spends a long period of time in untouched nature, seeking a deep connection with the place. We talk about Patrick's fondness for old-growth woods, his extensive exploration of Rwanda's Nyungwe Forest National Park and the largely unknown side of the dormant Mt Sabyinyo volcano. Will we give you a push for a similar adventure of your own? HOSTS Joe Kahiri is a Ugandan recording and performing artist and the founder of Qwela, a top Afro-fusion band. #18 Congo Nile Trail Without a Guide

This time we revisit a topic that we introduced in episode #7 — Rwanda's extraordinary Congo Nile Trail. But while a hiking guide answered common questions about it then, we are now interviewing two brave travellers who did it by themselves. In January 2023 Martin Hicks from the UK and Ania Kolodziejczak from Poland walked its entire 220+ kilometre length pretty much unsupported. Joined by Enock Musabyimana who has been leading guests on the Trail for almost a decade, Miha and Kahiri explore the advantages and disadvantages of doing such a grand trek independently. What did they pack? What problems did they encounter along the way? And maybe the most important question: how many times did they get lost? This is a must-listen episode for anyone who dreams about exploring rural Rwanda in an unusual way. HOSTS Joe Kahiri is a Ugandan recording and performing artist and the founder of Qwela, a top Afro-fusion band. Passionate about creating a positive shift in mindset through artistic creation, he resides in Kabale (Uganda).
