    Walking With Jesus – Walking in Power

    Walking With Jesus – Walking in Power

    This week, we conclude our series called Walking With Jesus – Lessons from the Holy Land. After two recent trips to Israel, Pastor Mike wants to share what he learned during his travels. The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    As we conclude our series, we want to focus on the last week of the life of Jesus on earth. He used it to prepare us and empower us. Our generation of Christians is driven to serve, but we have forgotten the source of our strength. We need to learn how to once again walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Walking With Jesus – Life From the Mountaintop

    Walking With Jesus – Life From the Mountaintop

    This week, we continue our new series called Walking With Jesus – Lessons from the Holy Land. After two recent trips to Israel, Pastor Mike wants to share what he learned during his travels. The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    A review of both the Old and New Testaments makes it very clear, when it comes to entering a sacred space where you can meet God, there’s no substitute for a mountaintop. We can meet Jesus on the mountaintop, but we learn to trust Him, and walk with Him in the valley. Today we want to learn about life from the mountaintop.

    Sermon Notes:

    Throughout Scripture, God uses mountaintops to reveal himself and his plan

    At the Mount of Temptation, Jesus revealed His power

    * Hebrews 4:14-16 NLT

    At the Mount of Beatitudes, Jesus revealed a new way to live

    * Matthew 5:1 NLT

    * Matthew 5:20 NLT

    * Matthew 7:12-13 NLT

    At Mt. Arbel, Jesus revealed our new mission

    * Matthew 28:8-10 NLT

    * Matthew 28:16-17 NLT

    * 1 Corinthians 15:1-9 NLT

    * Matthew 28:18-20 NLT

    We meet Jesus on the mountaintop, but we learn to walk with Him in the valley

    Walking With Jesus – Walking on Water

    Walking With Jesus – Walking on Water

    This week, we continue our new series called Walking With Jesus – Lessons from the Holy Land. After two recent trips to Israel, Pastor Mike wants to share what he learned during his travels. The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    We can all relate to Simon Peter. At times, he was bold and faithful, and at other times, we failed in spectacular fashion. He denied knowing Jesus three times, but that was not the end of his story. When the Resurrected Jesus calls on Peter, Jesus asks Peter to affirm his love, not once, but three times. What will it mean for Peter to repent and be forgiven? What could repentance and Jesus’s forgiveness mean for you? And how then might Jesus be calling you to demonstrate your faith?

    Sermon Notes:

    * Matthew 16:16-23 NLT

    Faith is an active trust in God

    * Matthew 14:22-28 NLT

    Faith means that we focus on God instead of our fear

    * Matthew 14:29-33 NLT

    Through Peter’s failure, we learn Christ’s faithfulness

    * John 21:1-19 NLT* 1 Peter 1:3-6 NLT

    Walking With Jesus – Spending Time in Prayer

    Walking With Jesus – Spending Time in Prayer

    This week, we continue our new series called Walking With Jesus – Lessons from the Holy Land. After two recent trips to Israel, Pastor Mike wants to share what he learned during his travels. The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    Jesus was busy, but never in a hurry. He always made time to pray. The Gospels record 33 instances when Jesus prayed. His ministry began with prayer and ended with prayer. Christ also established several rhythms of prayer: often He would pray in the morning, and sometimes all night long. If Jesus, the perfect Son of God, so prioritized prayer, how much more should we? Today we learn from Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.

    Sermon Notes:

    * 1 John 2:6 ESV* 1 Peter 2:21 NLT* Galatians 5:25 ESV

    Jesus teaches a rhythm of life that is centered around time alone in prayer

    * Mark 1:35-37 NLT* Mark 6:46 NLT* Luke 6:12 NLT* Luke 9:18 NLT* Luke 9:28 NLT* Luke 11:1 NLT* Luke 22:39-40 NLT

    Private prayer prepares us for public ministry

    * Luke 22:41-44 NLT* Matthew 6:5-6 NLT

    God Won’t Let You Down

    * Luke 22:45-46 NLT* Matthew 26:42-46 NLT

    OUR RESPONSE: Where is your place of prayer?

The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    Do you ever feel alone and isolated? The wilderness is mentioned throughout the Bible as a place of wandering. But it’s also the place where God shows us his presence. Today, we’ll focus on what the wilderness teaches us about the struggles we face in our everyday life.

    Sermon Notes:

    Our journey often leads us to the wilderness after the mountaintop

    * Matthew 4:1 NLT

    The devil will always show up at our weakest moments

    The wilderness shows us what we really depend on

    Walking With Jesus – Going to the Other Side

    This week, we continue our new series called Walking With Jesus – Lessons from the Holy Land. After two recent trips to Israel, Pastor Mike wants to share what he learned during his travels. The Holy Land brings the Bible to life as you see the actual places where Jesus walked and taught.

    Today, we’ll focus on the invitation of Jesus to go to the other side. The other side of the Sea of Galilea was a significant departure from the safety of Capernaum. Jesus still invites us to trust Him and follow Him to the other side of our world today. It’s an invitation to reach the world with the hope that we share.

    Sermon Notes:

    An “Us-Versus-Them” Mentality Keeps Us From Reaching Others

    * Mark 4:35 NLT

    The other side is unexpected and unknown

    * Mark 4:36-41 NLT

    God always shows up and shows off on the other side

    * Mark 5:1-13

    God’s plan of redemption is available to everyone

    * Mark 5:14-20 NLT* Mark 8:1-10 NLT
