Seshisode 166: High phone calls, Puckered Butt Holes and Algorithms

Have you ever gotten high, the phone rings and stupidly answered it?If you smoke you know the reality of a puckered butt hole all to well. You make the mistake of having a few edibles and enjoying your day. When all of a sudden you trusty little electronic buddy rings. You reach into your pocket and hit the answer button. The voice on the other end, in all it's weighted seriousness, rushes a chill down your spine and lower half tenses with the strength of a vault door.Well I had an instance like that recently and let me tell you, it made me feel like I was 5 years old and caught red handed in the cookie jar. When the edibles hit you really have to assess the moves you make other wise you're just opening yourself up for a whole world of terror.That kind of terror is rampant online and through social media. Our phones are always listening to us. Paying attention to our joys and our fears. Preying on innocent minds in hopes to persuade them to follow the algorithm.Imagine having to go on a trip, taking a flight or driving in the car for an extended period of time. Your friendly little phone starts using social media, to prey on you and send your thoughts spiralling into dispare.I took a trip recently and TikTok decided it was great idea to flood my page with plane crashes. There's nothing like knowing you have to ride through the sky and being force fed planes falling from the sky. Birds flying into engines and pilots playing chicken. In some cases even being on the ground can't save you. It's terrifying to know that, in an instant an air plane can become a large metal human sausage skin.With an algorithm like that, who needs to watch horror movies?This might be one of the reasons X and Meta have both decided to do away with algorithms that fact check. They have both implemented a "Notes" feature on their platforms in order to have more accurate fact checking. It's a way for humans to keep other humans in check. Giving everyone the opportunity to be a super sleuth.
