Seth Vander Tuig- Collaborative Events Creates Connection & Community of Colleagues

In this interview Seth explains how he reached out across the state of Iowa and helped create a "community of colleagues". In short, 18 campuses came together this past school year to coordinate 142 virtual events! And, it was all inspired by a question from his young daughter. "What are your friends doing?" Seth explains how it went from "cold-calls" to friendships and a year of learning and shared experiences. He did not anticipate the level of home-grown professional development that came through the experience of planning with his statewide colleagues. At the heart of it, Seth was seeking to find a way to create a better experience his students at Kirkwood and wound up creating a better experience for thousands of students across the state of Iowa.
