A therapist and genealogical investigator narrate interviews with real people about their experiences with shocking DNA revelations like paternity fraud, Non-Paternal Events (NPE), donor conceptions and adoptions, whether discovered by a commercial DNA test or a known disclosure. Using a blend of humor, education and awe, these two friends make sense of one of the fastest growing segments of popular culture - the surprise DNA discovery. Great Podcast, Great Hosts
I binge-listened to every Sex, Lies & the Truth podcast I could find during the summer of 2020 after I discovered my NPE status. Hearing the stories of others in similar situations to mine gave me valuable information, insight, comfort and determination. Thank you for addressing many important issues that have been intentionally kept as secrets from so many of us! ❤️
I discovered I was an NPE in February 2019 just ten days before I turned 31 and four months before my wedding. My mom is an NPE also and I discovered I was an NPE while helping my mom find her biological father. There are several NPE’s on my newly discovered biological paternal side as well. People don’t understand how this shakes one’s identity until they have walked through this, because of this I’m now writing a memoir about my experience. I love listening to podcasts that give a voice to our community. #npe #npealicia
I just listened to two of the podcasts today & loved them. I can’t wait to listen to more tomorrow. A little sad to see that it’s not a weekly podcast. Hopefully it will be soon. 😉
