Let’s be real. Being in your 20s is HARD. Dating can be a dumpster fire. Creating your career can be a big bag of uncertainty. And this “adulting” thing - where’s the guidebook? If you ever wished you had that tell-it-like-it-is big sis who’s been through it and has the advice you need to get through it too, then “Sh*t I Wish I Knew In My Twenties” is for you.

High-school-dropout-turned-Network-TV-Correspondent and Confidence Coach Debra Alfarone shares what she’s learned failing, winning, adulting, crying, dating, and climbing to the top of a competitive career and a (finally) rewarding life. Deb’s also got a squad of friends who are down to pass along their knowledge. Because be honest, we’ve all been crying on the bathroom floor on Group FaceTime wondering how we got there.

“Sh*t I Wish I Knew In My Twenties” is about honest conversations, real talk, and lifting up the next generation of women so they can powerfully change the world.

Finding Belonging: Award-winning CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller on the secret she hid most of her life

Finding Belonging: Award-winning CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller on the secret she hid most of her life

Award-winning CBS News Correspondent and co-host of CBS Saturday Morning, Michelle Miller, struggled to find belonging for many years.

After the murder of George Floyd, she picked up her phone and started recording her reaction and commentary as part of an assignment. Little did she know her story would resonate with so many and lead to a New York Times best-selling book called, "Belonging: A Daughter's Search for Identity Through Love and Loss.”

Michelle Miller joined CBS News in 2004. She has reported on stories of national and international importance. From presidential elections to the climate crisis, her area of coverage is wide-ranging, but her reporting around social justice has been particularly groundbreaking. From her coverage of the killings of George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown, the Emanuel 9 Massacre in Charleston, to sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby, Russell Simmons, and Harvey Weinstein, Miller has been at the forefront of CBS News' coverage of the protest movement involving these issues.

In this episode, Michelle shares insight into her book, ”Belonging: A Daughter's Search for Identity Through Love and Loss.” She shares how racism has affected her entire life. And she also shares how she found her confidence as a young reporter. It’s a fascinating episode.

Stephanie Ruhle ,

Thank you!

I’m a young woman in my mid-twenties in the news business and I just needed to hear everything Debra had to say. She validates everything I have felt in this podcast while also motivating me to push past any self-doubt or lack of confidence. She’s really inspiring.

KSBelger94 ,

I’ve listened to every episode TWICE

Late twenties girl here. I’m so glad this podcast exists. I’ve been going through a lot personally and professionally and this podcast has really helped me cancel out the noise and process things I haven’t had language to articulate. The episode with David Bengnaud and also Femi Redwood were really special to me. I love this so much! I wait for each new episode and listen to old ones while I do!
