Shoeless Goat Podcast Podcasts – Let Me B-Frank

A week after complaining about the lack of big offseason moves on the last Shoeless Goat Podcast, Nick and Pat's prayers have been answered.  The Cubs and White Sox have both made big moves, with the North Siders signing Dansby Swanson and the South Siders getting Andrew Benintendi.

For the Sox, Pat emphasizes separating who Benintendi is as a player and how he'll help the team from the fact that his $75M deal is the biggest in team history STILL.  Nick gives you all the reasons to be ecstatic as a Cubs fan in Swanson, and why his deal sets them up for a potential breakout season of playoff contention in 2023.  With the moves in mind, the guys give their thoughts on both teams' current lineups, and who else they may target this offseason.

Welcome to the first Shoeless Goat Podcast episode of the offseason!  Nick and Pat are back to catch you up on everything Chicago baseball since the Winter Meetings wrapped up last week.  After a quiet start to the offseason for the White Sox, Pat openly questions what the plans in, mourns the loss of Jose Abreu in Chicago, and much more in a rant filled segment.  While the Cubs have had a slightly happier offseason, Nick gears up for a disappointing lack of spending by the Ricketts family as the shortstop market is falling off the board.  The guys also give their picks for best possible signings the teams could make still and yearn for a crazy, money be damned owner to take control of a Chicago team.

After a solid week, both the White Sox and the Shoeless Goat Podcast are back!  In this Sox-centric episode, Nick and Pat discuss the recent change in fortune for the White Sox, with a 4-2 week bringing them to within 2 games of the division lead.  From the winning week, to Dylan Cease's near no hitter, to Miguel Cairo's performance as manager so far, to Tony La Russa's future with the team, the guys cover everything White Sox as the South Siders march along to the end of the season.  Can they pull off a division title a week after Pat declared them dead?

On the Cubs side of the equation, Nick gets his weekly rant in, this time over the Cubs giving longtime rivals Albert Pujols and Yadi (Not a Hall of Famer) Molina gifts at Wrigley as part of their farewell tour.

In this week's Shoeless Goat Podcast, the guys recap an eventful week on both sides of town.  For the Cubs, the Field of Dreams Game win was the highlight on the field of a week that ended with a series win in Cincinnati.  Off the field, Tom Ricketts made some comments sure to rile up the fanbase, which laid the groundwork for Nick to look ahead to next year's free agent shortstop class.

On the South Side, the White Sox went from getting beaten soundly in Kansas City to sweeping Detroit in yet another up and down, frustrating week.  Maybe it'll be different this time, with Johnny Cueto pointing out the obvious (to everyone but Tony La Russa) lack of fire seeming to turn this around for the weekend. Going along with Pat's theme of the week, who knows.
