Becoming a single mum is one of the most daunting and overwhelming life changes someone will ever go through. Whether you are pregnant or have teenagers, you will most likely be confused and struggling with what to do next. I became a single mum in 2013 when my daughter was just a few months old, and it has been a challenging but rewarding journey ever since. This Podcast (and the website www.singlemothersurvivalguide) was created to assist newly single mothers in all things they may need to know about.

SO WHAT IS THE SINGLE MOTHER SURVIVAL GUIDE PODCAST ABOUT?

A Podcast for single mums, made by a single mum… The Single Mother Survival Guide Podcast includes a mixture of me babbling about single mums business and interviews and discussions with different people and experts about different topics.

First off the ranks this includes an interview with a Wills and Estate lawyer which contains everything YOU need to know about getting a Will done, an interview with a financial adviser on everyday money management, savings, spending and so forth, an interview with an online security expert so that YOU know how to keep yourself secure online, an open interview with a domestic violence survivor and advocate, and another interview with a financial adviser on everything to do with insurance, and what you should think about getting insured to ensure the financial safety for you and your kids. Coming up after that I have chats with people including parenting experts, family lawyers, and a life coach.

I also chat about the social stigma of being a single mum, single parent travel, everyday tips to make YOUR life easier, dating, personal budgeting, resources out there to help YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN, child support, domestic violence, successful co-parenting, advantages to being a single mum, and the list goes on…

407 - Helping our kids thrive through separation or divorce, with Hannah Strong

This week on the show, I have Hannah Strong joining me. Hannah Strong is an industry expert, coach, and therapist, specialising in helping mums to support their children in the best way possible through divorce and throughout a childhood of growing up with separated parents - so their children do not just survive and get by, but thrive! Through Hannah’s lived experience she personally understands the struggles of the mums she works with. Her passion for empowering children to thrive led to the creation of her own podcast and coaching programme known as My Thriving Child.
In this episode, Hannah and I talked about:
Hannah's background and her single mum journey Attachment of children and its impact   Her experience working with mums who were separating Her drive to let her children thrive as they grow  Advice to single mums struggling to support their child during the co-parenting transition period Links mentioned in the episode:

Immigrant Mom in the MidWest ,

Powerful!

I started listening to this podcast in 5 years ago when I was going through my separation and divorce. I am thriving as a divorced-single-parent for 5 years now but I am still here listening to this amazing podcast. I have been wanting to share my own story with Julia on the podcast for a long time now but my situation presents some challenges. My story will not be complete without mentioning a terrible thing one of my in-laws put me through. I have patched things up with this person and they are in my child’s life now. I have recommended this podcast to a lot of single parents I know. This podcast is popular where I live. Because of that, my unique story will easily identify me because of the notoriety of my ex-husband. Even if I talk about it anonymously, people can easily identify me and this could potentially destroy the relationship my child has with my ex-husband’s family. Maybe one day, when my child is no longer a minor, I would love to tell my story. My life is driven by my goal to keep my child safe and provided for. Which I am successful at. Thanks to my friends, my job, and this Podcast. Someone told me before that my story will one day be someone’s survival guide. And it has been so many times. One day, I will share my story. But now, I will just keep supporting this podcast by listening and recommending to friends who could benefit from it. What a powerful podcast. Thank you, Julia.

Succeding ,

Thank YOU!!!

Thank YOU Julia for helping us thrive from the courage of exiting abusive toxic relationship that nearly sabotage us. So that we gain power back from toxic ex whom tried making us feel shameful or tainted us to a complete opposite parent to our children. And that we can be the role model for many more targeted parents and victims from abusive relationships to safely walk away with survival plans. That they have choice NOT to tolerate and condone abusive behaviors another second. Trust your intuition compass. Your feelings is your best bodyguards from the worst.
