Slayin’ It! with Juliet Landau

I love getting Juliette’s point of view and behind the scenes information. Even the parts about her personal life are simply wonderful. The other two hosts unfortunately make this podcast painful to listen to. Their weird interjections of other TV and film clips and just their overall style is unappealing for me so I won’t be listening anymore. I only made it to the 5th episode as I tried to really give it a chance but the other two hosts really ruin it for me.

Ok I had to go back and rewrite my review I wrote after only hearing the first episode. Now that I’ve heard much more, I really like the ease and chemistry the hosts have. It’s always fascinating to hear details from Juliet. Maybe I was distracted during an episode, but I don’t remember how you all know each other. Either way, there’s great banter. Second, I was kind of disappointed to see a few reviews about talking about not liking personal or technical/industry topics. I like when you guys go off on a tangent like that. It’s interesting and it makes the podcast less surface-y, if that makes sense. I also enjoy the interviews with the guest stars so far. My fingers are crossed for some more prominent cast members eventually, but it’s still enjoyable to hear from anyone who’s been on the show. Since I’ve watched Buffy about 10 times already, I’m good with a less structured & not centered around mostly just the episode synopsis. Only a recap of each episode with a dash of commentary has been done many times over. It’s refreshing and fun to listen to more in depth chats with such a beloved character from the show.

I absolutely love Juliet and the behind the scenes tidbits are so interesting to me but I feel like they aren’t staying on topic with the episodes. I recently watched the first season of Buffy again and I noticed they missed a ton of details on the episodes because they got stuck rambling. I don’t hate this podcast but I wish they would stay on topic. I have ADHD and when I tell someone a story I struggle to stay on topic and I’ll start telling little side story’s and then I’ll have to be reminded to continue the story I was previously telling and sometimes it just feels like them rambling about stuff that has nothing to do with the episode is like me telling a story adding on side story’s and just rambling on and on. I really do like the behind the scenes things and the life experiences Juliet talks about but it seems that they talk about that more than the actual episodes and I think that if they wanted to a Buffy podcast with just behind the scenes stuff and cool life experiences with Juliet that would would be very cool! But right now it just feels like we’re not getting what the hosts promised.

I love love love Juliet. This concept is very awesome. But the other two guys just ramble so much and it distracts me from the entire concept. Juliet has such an amazing presence but I feel like it’s overshadowed by the other two for no reason. PLEASE GOD STOP THE SPOILER SOUND!!! Don’t mind the spoilers because I’ve seen the show 10000 times. But the spoiler sound is so obnoxious
