Season 3 Episode 1: Hibachi

The Southeast by Southwest podcast is back for a 3rd season exploring the stories and people at the intersection of Asia, the American Southwest and beyond. For our first episode we uncover the history of hibachi in both Japan and America and talk with two groups bringing this beloved cuisine to the streets of New Mexico through their food trucks. Homegirls Hibachi and Bachi Boys feature with their own stories and unique contributions to the hibachi scene. Did you know that the hibachi (aka teppanyaki grill) is essentially the exact same thing as the plancha where your favorite tacos and quesadillas are made?
