I’m loving this podcast! English is my primary language, but I speak Spanish all the time in my music therapy work in Early Intervention. I am constantly learning about the Spanish language and various cultures throughout my work, but this podcast has proven to be an incredible resource. Tony’s approach to each interview is so inviting as he brings the listener into conversations about clinical, personal, and cultural topics. Keep the Spanish (and clinical) tips coming, and Thank You!

I’m a White monolingual board certified music therapist working in Central Florida. I’ve been struggling to best serve my patients who are from a hispanic background and/or whose primary language is Spanish. In that struggle, I’ve also dealt with feeling guilty for not being able to serve them better (hello, white fragility!) Tony’s approach in this podcast is like a hug from an old friend; no judgment or expectations, just sharing life and learning together. Not only am I getting a deeper understanding of his experience, but he’s also reminding me of why I fell in love with music therapy! When I listen, I feel encouraged and energized to continue growing as a music therapist. I’m so grateful to be able to learn from his experience!
