I don’t know how to leave a review on a single episode but the interview with James Pethokoukis was embarrassing. Advocating for tripling down on tech savorism and environmental deregulation to save us is not optimism it’s naivety and denial. Perfectly reasonable to have him on to share his ideas but to not even ask him about how unfettered neoliberal capitalism and a head in the sand approach to tech development are major contributors to every issue we face today doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in this podcast. I could only listen until there was about ten minutes left. Maybe I missed where you pushed back on denial as optimism, but it didn’t seem like it was heading that direction. Oooof.
