The ghosts of your horror movie club explore a different sub-genre each month! Featuring creators from the spooky community, stoner filmmaker DeVaughn Taylor & film journalist Garrett McDowell discuss the recurring motifs of various sub-genres and what makes the best genre films work. New episodes every Tuesday!
NOTE: We recommend starting at Season 2 (Ep60) as that's when Garrett joined and began our current format. Season 1 was the experimental phase haha
NOTE: The first 99 episodes, we were under "Bloody Blunts" however the show didn't change, so Season 3 is where we continued as "Specter Cinema"

STARRY EYES (2015) // HollyWEIRD, California
It's time for another redux episode as DeVaughn & Garrett give Starry Eyes a proper review. The boys are discussing cringey starving artists, chasing ambitions in LA, and how eerie it is watching this in a post Me Too climate. Hail, Astraeus!

LONGLEGS (2024) ft. Matt Donato // SCC #197
Surprise, little angels! We're taking an intermission from HollyWEIRD coverage to discuss the year's most anticipated horror film Longlegs. The boys are joined by serial Specter Matt Donato (Certified Forgotten) to breakdown the marketing/hype, the unconventional storytelling, and the stunning performances by Monroe & Cage. We're just happy as peaches!

THEY LIVE (1988) ft. Josh Griffey // HollyWEIRD, California
The boys are here to podcast and chew bubble game, but they're alll out of bubble gum. Josh Griffey (Film Alchemist Podcast) stops by (virtually) stops by Downtown LA to discuss They Live. We discuss random celebrity encounters, Carpenter's raging direction, and how this film hits a little too close to home 36 years later. Obey!

TARGETS (1968) // HollyWEIRD, California
The boys have returned home safely from their international travels and are ready to explore the horrors here in our city of Los Angeles! We set the tone with Peter Bogdanovich's Targets; where we discuss the parallel narratives, Roger Corman's involvement, and how films age & respond to tragedy. Snag a Baby Ruth if you're hungry!

KNIFE+HEART (2018) ft. Rocco T. Thompson // International Queer Horror
We got one more stop in France for our International Pride tour as we discuss the porno-set giallo A Knife in the Heart. The boys are joined by Rocco T. Thompson (The Lady Killers Podcast) to discuss the pain of love, artistic expression through porn, and that chosen family takes many forms. If a dildo switchblade doesn't make this the gayest episode of the show, idk what will!

Customer Reviews
Pull Up!!
DeVaughn and Garrett are such a fun duo to listen to, and their coverage of different horror films are so great!!
Great podcast
Fun, informative work.
Bloody Blunts Cinema Club F***ing Rocks!
Long-time listener first time reviewer, I’ve been listening to Devaughn since his early days and I truly adore how much love this man has for such a underappreciated classification of moviemaking. The BBCC is a great way to engage in the community of horror lovers and they make you feel welcomed as they present an engaging listen through casual conversation; wether they are holding a film up on a pedestal or ripping it apart, the BBCC is my favorite weekly escape.
