    Can’t Stop - #239

    There's only one way to wrap up the year, have Keith and Wade break it down. After a quick birthday wish to Tiger, the two ProShow voices go through fifteen outstanding stories. Some we remember, some we don't. That's what year-end shows are for!  From Nelly's blood clot to Phil's frontal lobotomy, 2022 did not disappoint on drama. Month after month the sublime became real and the golf community was literally turned upside down. We still don't know where it will continue to go, but the product we consume has been improved.  2023 plans to be even better when we consider more golf from Tiger, the Netflix series on the PGA Tour, LPGA purses, "designated" events and overall championship venues.     The golf world is full of great stories. PGA Professional Chandler Withington stepped away from the Director of Golf role at Hazeltine National Golf Club in 2021. He had an idea on how to create a better quality of life for he and his family. That idea took a little time to build, but his tremendous work ethic allowed him to persevere.  Chandler loves the history of golf and is a tremendous artist. He combined that interest and talent and started Archive 22. Archive 22 is an unbelievable concept. Withington creates pieces of historic art displaying moments in the ecosystem of our game.  Throughout our conversation, Keith and Chandler covered: The company's origin story Chandler's art and history interest PGA career path The company's name The challenge of creating historic golf art  The first piece available from Chandler is a historic account of the US Open.     It's the final week for the LPGA and PGA Tour in 2022. Tour golf is about to take a break. Keith is in Georgia at Sea Island to cover the men while his guest this week, Chantel McCabe, is in southwest Florida to cover the women.  Together they breakdown the CME Group Tour Championship. Two million dollars to the winner for the women will raise some attention and add to all the pressure packed drama we are set to see in Naples.  Sea Island is unseasonably cold this week. Keith's visit covers all the action. From the range to the course, nothing is more engaging than a live report from the front lines. He has a bunch of player and caddie insights to relay including everyone's reaction to the current stories in the game.  From the OWGR to Rory's rip on Greg Norman, golf continues to entertain us all with weekly drama.     The New Jersey Golf Foundation has supported the ProShow since the start. In this episode, we provide our support to their programming. In 2022, they opened the Inspiration Driving Range on the campus of the Lyons VA Center. Keith visited the facility for today's show. It was a vanguard move to purchase the property and provide a suitable homesite for all of their clinics, events and programs. The NJGF has three pillars; youth, military and special needs. The range provides a wonderful opportunity for the Foundation to grow the game in an awesome environment.  Andy Brock is the Director of Instruction at the range. The 2014 NJPGA Golf Professional of the Year joins us to describe the day to day. Alongside Andy, one of the NJGF interns, Bryce Walker calls in as well.  Between the two of them they describe for Keith: The local PGA HOPE program PGA Junior League The weekly range activities Great player moments from the first season What they love about working at the range Surrounded by nine holes and all open to the public, this facility is one of a kind. The partnership taking place here is an example for all golf foundations to follow. Congratulations to Executive Director Chris Hunt and the NJGF Board for bringing this all together.
