Acts 6: The Best Ability Is Availability | Caleb Carballo | Captivate Church

As we've been journeying through the book of Acts and reading all about the incredible feats of the early church, we’ve found ourselves marveling at the disciples' superhuman faith and strength and resolve.Except we know that they were anything BUT superhuman.Rather, they were ordinary people who God used for extraordinary purposes. So the real question is, why THEM?And the answer, in part, is that they were available. Availability was their superpower. And part of what we're going to see this week is that availability is often the precursor to experiencing a move of God. But what we must know, is that the enemy is always looking to stop the move of God, and often he does that by placing obstacles in the way of our availability.Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Acts 4: Unshakeable | Shawn Stone | Captivate Church

For those of us who have lived in California for any length of time, we know that at any moment when we least expect it the ground can start to shake. Every time we feel the initial jolt we wonder in our minds, "Is this going to be the big on?!" There is nothing we can do to stop these quakes from coming, but we can prepare ourselves to respond and withstand them. Well, life is the same way. When we least expect things start to shake: emotionally, financially, relationally, etc... Do you have a strategy to endure when the shaking inevitably comes? Better yet, have you discovered a way to be unshakeable to the things life throws at you? This week we were in Acts 4 where the early church experience the first wave of persecution threatening their lives. We discover a bold church, that was unshakeable once they were shaken by God.Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Acts 3: Eyes Wide Open | Weston Stutz | Captivate Church

Busyness has become something our culture celebrates. It's become a badge of honor to overwork, get little sleep, and do "too" many things in life. Try telling someone you're not busy in 2025, they'll probably look at you like you're an alien. But how much of life do we truly miss when we are simply running through it? How often do we miss God, miss people, and miss miracle moments because we just did not see them? Most of the time we're not even looking. But what does it look like to begin to walk, not run, through life looking for his kingdom all around us? How do we go from seeing life in 3D to 4D, to being present physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually? Peter in Acts 3 shows us how to practically walk through life with eyes that are actually looking for God to move in our world. Tune into this week’s message called, “Eyes Wide Open”.Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Acts 2: Outside of Ourselves | Weston Stutz | Captivate Church

One of the greatest examples of community in scripture is found in our chapter of study this week: Acts 2. What we learn in this chapter is that when the Holy Spirit works in our lives He drives us outside of ourselves and toward 3 things:1. The Lord 2. The Lost 3. The Lonely So often when we look for meaning in life, happiness, purpose, and a sense of belonging, we tend to look within. We often look in the mirror and ask ourselves life's deepest questions. But what we learn in scripture is that the answers to those questions don't exist within us. They exist outside of us. And when the Holy Spirit has his way in our lives, He reveals to us that what we are looking for is found beyond us, in the Lord and other people. Check out this week’s message titled, "Outside of Ourselves."Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Acts 1: The Purpose. The Plan. The Power. | Weston Stutz | Captivate Church

Last week we kicked off our new years series "Church in the Wild" by giving an introduction of the book of Acts, what the purpose of the church is, and where we are going this year.Acts 1 gives us what is essentially the thesis statement for the church of Jesus in the known world today:"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NIVIn this one action-packed verse we get the PURPOSE, the PLAN, and the POWER of the church. We are praying for a fresh understanding, freedom, and boldness to be the church that goes toward darkness, not away from it. Like the early church, we pray that we become a church who falls in love with the only cause worth giving our life for.Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? Why God Made The Church | Weston Stutz | Captivate Church

The Book of Acts is the remarkable story of how God used a group of ordinary people to catalyze the largest faith movement in the history of the world. And thus, the church began! But why did God make the church? What's its purpose? The truth is everything God makes has a purpose, and that includes us as the church. God made the church to lift up his name, end loneliness, and be the light to the world. This Sunday we unpacked this in a message called, “Why God Made The Church.”This Sunday I can't wait to unpack it all with you in a message I'm calling "Why God Made The Church." Join us this season as we pray for the Lord to pour out a fresh boldness and courage over our His people. Our prayer is that we be the kind of light that goes toward the darkness not away from it. We pray God would give His people a new and soft heart for those who don’t know him. We pray for boldness because a broken world needs a bold church.Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus? We hope that you had an amazing holiday season surrounded by loved ones!As has become tradition at Captivate, we kicked the year off with a Praise Party! We want to jump into 2025 the best way we know how, by honoring and praising our God together. We also talked about various ways to dive into spiritual disciplines together as a church, which is a focus of ours in this new year— things like fasting, studying the word, and worship. We believe that spiritual disciplines hold the key to real life transformation. We hope that you feel equipped to draw closer to God in the new year!Join us for service online or in person every Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 12:30pm (PST).If you want to share how God is moving in your life through this ministry, please let us know at info@captivatesd.com!Decided To Follow Jesus?
