Living on the Edge of Life | The Silent Sacrifices of the Selfless

Living on the Edge of Life | The Silent Sacrifices of the Selfless

In this episode, Rev Karla discuss the intricate layers of grief. Grief isn't a one-size-fits-all process; it's a lifelong journey that impacts us all at some point. It's not just about losing a loved one; it can be triggered by various life events, from relationship endings to significant societal shifts. Rev Karla challenges the traditional "five stages of grief" model, highlighting that it's not as linear as we once thought. Instead, think of grief as a winding path, often unpredictable and non-linear.

Throughout the episode, Rev Karla offers practical advice on how to cope with grief, while stressing the importance of acknowledging and honoring grief through meaningful rituals and altars that allow us to remember our lost loved ones. She also discusses how grief can be transformed into action, personal growth, or advocacy, sharing real-life examples of this transformation. This podcast encourages us to embrace our grief with compassion and seek support when needed understanding that grief is part of our human experience.

Rev Karla Answers Your Questions Part #9 | Diverse Spiritual Paths and Navigating Post-Deconstruction Challenges

In this special Q&A podcast episode, Rev Karla answers these questions from her audience:

As a Gay Christian, it is both a relief and confusing because it’s all I’ve ever know. Do you think Jesus will ever return? And what about a new Earth?
Can you do a series about interacting with others post-deconstruction? Like when to discuss and when not to, how to respect their journey without trying to correct them, how to meet them where they are?
Would you be willing to discuss your thoughts on the afterlife? What are your thoughts on heaven?

A safe space

Rev Karla is insightful and attuned to the needs of those who have experienced any religious trauma and/or come from any cult- like thinking religious background. She offers a safe space to curl up into, where you feel seen and heard. This space is sacred and whole. It is a healing balm for those of us seeking refuge in the unknown. She is gentle, compassionate, and kind. Without even telling you, she holds the space in which you’re walking. Rev Karla meets you where you are and validates every single step. Each podcast episode brings forth something new and I look forward to her words every single time. It’s as though you’re the only one in the room with her and she’s speaking directly into you. You will find healing here.

Spiritual Nutrition

Rev Karla meets every need I have for a spiritual leader/advisor/counselor. After struggling with religion to fit my own morals and ethics, I now know it’s okay to be spiritual AND not religious. She acknowledges and validates religious trauma while also respecting the heritage and sacredness of religion. She has provided the first spiritual community where I truly feel seen, heard, and affirmed.
