Sports and the Art of Sisu

Give it up for Allie Berube of abc27, the first female sports director in #CentralPA and our final G&G guest of Season 3! “My dad is the reason I’m in sports,” Allie shared. “I was the older daughter and if I was going to hang out with dad, we would watch the Red Socks and the Celtics.” Joining co-hosts Anne Deeter Gallaher and Anne Carnathan for an action-packed 30 minutes, Allie offers a refreshing perspective about being a woman in an 86% male-dominated field; why sharing her career lessons with young women and girls is so important; and how sisu, a Finnish word she learned from her grandmother which means courage in the face of adversity, has taught her to be resilient, give back to get back, and protect her peace.
