Spotlight is KUCO’s weekly program celebrating Oklahoma’s vibrant arts community, offering interviews with guests, exploring individual artistic endeavor, upcoming concerts, events and exhibits, and learning more about the arts organizations that serve our community.

    For our February 20 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the University of Central Oklahoma School of Music. He joins us for his weekly visit highlighting and ensemble at UCO as well as listing off all the events taking place in the coming week. Then we sit down with Phyllis Smith with the Oklahoma City Symphonic Band. She joins the program to detail their next concert with Dr. Matthew Mailman and the Oklahoma Youth Winds on Tuesday, February 25th at 7:30pm.

    For our February 6 episode we are joined by Dr. Rob Glaubitz with the UCO School of Music for his weekly segment detailing all the events taking place at the UCO School of Music. Then we sit down with Natasha Naik, artistic director with Cimarron Opera, to learn about their 50th anniversary concert taking place. Next we sit down with Dr. Richard Tirk with Southwestern Oklahoma State University to learn about the 55th annual SWOSU Jazz Fest taking place next week. Then we sit down with Megan Barth Argo and Erika Vasquez with Scissortail Productions to learn about their production of Child's Play. Finally we sit down with Emily Ahearn and Clint Stone with the Paseo Arts Association to learn about February's First Friday Gallery Walk.

    Four our January 30 episode we sit down with Dr. Rob Glaubitz for two segments. In the first segment we discuss the just-announced Painted Sky Opera 2025 season. In the second segment he joins us for his weekly conversation previewing events happening at the UCO School of Music. Next we sit down with Dylan Madoux with the Oklahoma Baroque Orchestra to learn about their program 'New Music, Old Instruments.' Then we sit down with Puffer Jones with the Kemp Concert Series to learn about the 4 x 4 Organ Concert happening at First Presbyterian Church in OKC. Finally we sit down with Marcus Leonard with JRB Art at the Elms to learn about their newest exhibit, "A Trio of Artistic Visionaries: Trey Gause, David Crismon, and BJ White.

They are presenting the English-language Baroque Opera on Sunday, January 26th at 4:15pm in Radke Fine Arts Auditorium in the Center for Transformative Learning on the campus of UCO.
