I believe that not only can God give you ever-lasting life, but that He can also give you peace in this life. God is like a good shepherd. He leads you by the still waters. He restores your soul. Russia Demands Role in Guaranteeing Ukraine’s Postwar Security European and Ukrainian officials call the idea ludicrous, showing the large gaps in peace negotiations. Russia’s top diplomat on Wednesday said the country would insist on being a part of any future security guarantees for Ukraine, a condition that European and Ukrainian officials widely see as absurd. It was the clearest sign yet that enormous gaps remain in the negotiations over a possible end to Russia’s invasion. And it added to the uncertainty over how a European effort to rally a “coalition of the willing” to protect a postwar Ukraine, possibly with Western soldiers stationed inside the country, would fit into President Trump’s plans for a peace deal with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. “Seriously discussing issues of ensuring security without the Russian Federation is a utopia, a road to nowhere,” Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, told reporters in Moscow after a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart. U.S. and Ukraine news: NATO initiative could regularly supply Ukraine with U.S. military equipment NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte today (4 August 2025) welcomed the first package of U.S. military equipment for Ukraine coordinated under the new NATO Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative. The Secretary General and the Dutch government confirmed that the Netherlands is funding the first package in full. “I commend The Netherlands for taking the lead and turning this initiative into concrete support on the ground, building on the steps taken last week by Germany to deliver more Patriot systems to Ukraine,” said the Secretary General. “This is about getting Ukraine the equipment it urgently needs now to defend itself against Russian aggression. The aim of all Allied assistance to Ukraine is to bring the war to a just and lasting end, in support of President Trump’s peace efforts. I have written to all NATO Allies, urging them to contribute towards this burden sharing initiative, and I expect further significant announcements from other Allies soon,” he added. Today’s announcement follows the agreement made by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on 14 July 2025. This new initiative is funded by European Allies and Canada, and will consist of regular packages, each worth roughly $500 million, containing equipment and munitions identified by Ukraine as operational priorities. These include capabilities that the United States can provide in greater volumes than Europe and Canada alone. Packages will be prepared rapidly and issued on a regular basis. At the NATO Summit in The Hague, Allies agreed that the common responsibility of supporting Ukraine must be shared more evenly. “This new initiative delivers on this commitment, and builds directly on key decisions made by leaders in The Hague by increasing defence investment and sustaining support to Ukraine,” said Secretary General Rutte. NATO will coordinate the delivery of the packages, including through the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) command in Wiesbaden. Working closely with Ukraine and the United States, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe Alexus Grynkewich will validate packages that correspond to Ukraine’s needs, such as air defence, ammunition and other critical equipment for rapid delivery from U.S. stockpiles. Middle East news: The Hill: The American right is falling out of love with Israel Canada plans to recognize Palestinian state, raising allies' pressure on Israel THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN writes of the situation: How did we get here, where a Jewish democratic state, descended in part from the Holocaust, is engaged in a policy of starvation in a war with Hamas that has become the longest and most deadly war between Israelis and Palestinians in Israel’s history — and shows no sign of ending? My answer: What makes this war different is that it pits what I believe is the worst, most fanatical and amoral government in Israel’s history against the worst, most fanatical, murderous organization in Palestinian history. But they are alike not just in the awfulness of their goals — each seeking to wipe out the other to control all the territory from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. They are also guided by leaders who have consistently prioritized their own political survival and ideological obsessions over the basic well-being of their own people — not to mention the interests of the United States. You may have noticed that this war has no generally accepted name — like the Six-Day War, the Sinai War or the October War. Well, I personally have always had a name for it. It’s the War of the Worst. This is the first Israeli-Palestinian war where the worst leaders on both sides are calling all the shots. The moderate Israeli opposition parties and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank have no influence. And that is why I cannot tell you how or when it will end. Because Netanyahu still insists on “total victory” over Hamas, which he will never achieve, and the Hamas leadership still insists on surviving this war in order to still control Gaza the morning after, which it does not deserve. Ukraine news: Something that gives me hope in regards to our military Part of his full message: Now if you’ve read this far, I’m sure you or a loved one was forced out of the military based on the vaccine. I took interest in this initiative because I understand what it’s like to be treated unfairly by the military. I was imprisoned in solitary confinement as a “serious threat” and “flight risk” both which were blatantly untrue… and I would argue illegal. When I got out of the brig, my medical records and investigation were released to a reporter still working in the Pentagon, and ironically, who is still reporting on me. Why do I point this out… because my impression is that many who exited the service because of poor treatment over the shot refusal want retribution. I get tagged every day with posts questioning when commanders at every level of the military will be thrown in jail for “illegally enforcing the COVID vaccine.” That’s not going to happen. Time to move forward. 3. For the leaders at every level - restore the trust. Take some time to reach out to that service member you served with and may have been cut short. Extend the olive branch. 4. Everyone - find some room to forgive…we got bigger threats out there. But let’s not forget and never let this happen again. Let’s end with some notes on faith As you know, if you want true peace, I believe you should look to God and the Bible for that — not a country, not a party, and certainly not an earthly leader, such as our President or the leader of whatever political party you prefer. I believe that not only can God give you ever-lasting life, but that He can also give you peace in this life. God is like a good shepherd. He leads you by the still waters. He restores your soul. He guides you out of the death and destruction of sin. If you know nothing about the Bible, but want to test the waters and maybe try it out, check out my resource page here.
