Standing Out as a Job Seeker (Feat. Bert E. Miller)

Motivational Mondays: Conversations with Leaders

Bert E. Miller is a recruiter and workplace expert with over 35 years of experience. He currently serves as CEO of Protis Global and President and CEO of MRINetwork®, a recruitment organization that offers consulting, training, contract staffing, and community building.

As a top recruiter, Bert shared what gets his attention when looking at a resume. He focuses on where the applicant has been, what they’ve done, and how well they did it. Bert wants a job seeker to articulate answers to these questions honestly and with brevity.

An applicant's past roles tell a story that will capture a recruiter's attention. Conversely, if Bert sees a resume with significant gaps in work history, poor grammar, etc., he'll dismiss it. In this episode of Motivational Mondays, he shares how you can stand out as a job seeker and maximize your success throughout your career journey.

This week, you’ll learn how Bert decided to become a recruiter, his thoughts on quiet quitting, and resume tips to stand out to recruiters.
