Shocked by how bigoted and ignorant Maddie Prewett has become, all under the guise of Christian “love.” I can go on about her and her guests’ blatant homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny, but something that really stood out to me in the episode I watched was the way she talked about her role as a “Godly” wife in her marriage. She talked about having issues with certain behaviors her husband was having early in their marriage and expressing her needs to him and how her husband convinced her concerns were “sinful,” which made her realize that she wasn’t being “submissive” enough in her marriage. It’s sad to see women manipulated into not having a voice or having their concerns acknowledged because it’s not “Godly” of them. Hope she can learn that she doesn’t need to suppress her very valid needs and concerns in the name of submission.
