Barbara Newhall Follett had published her first novel at 12, traveled the world by 14, and regularly corresponded with scientists, artists, and sailors. So at age 15, when she ran away for the first time, it was because she couldn’t understand why she would be forced into a life not created wholly on her own. It won’t be the first time, Barbara disappears because in 1939, at the age of 25, she does it again. Join Aimee and Vanessa for this week’s episode of She Goes By Jane as they finish the story of the mysterious disappearance of child prodigy Barbara Newhall Follett. This week they’re joined by Kerry O’Malley whose recent film credits include her scene-stealing role as Dolores in David Fincher's The Killer, Mother's Mother in Marielle Heller's Nightbitch, Azalia in Tyler Perry's Mea Culpa, and Mildred in Tyler Perry's Six Triple Eight. Recent television credits include her recurring roles as Megan in A Man on the Inside on Netflix, Samantha Miles on SEAL Team, first class passenger Lilah Folger on TNT's Snowpiercer, and Mavis in the second season of Marc Cherry's Why Women Kill for Paramount Plus.
