Untethering Shame
New episodes every Sunday! Shame is the fear of not being good enough or worthy of connection and belonging. This silent plague keeps us tethered to the performance, focused on external validation and approval versus internal rooting. It can disrupt every relationship, thought, and experience if left unchecked. And it's time we say enough. Join licensed mental health therapist, Kyira Wackett, in the quest to build insight and take meaningful and intentional actions as we untether ourselves from shame. Honest

To say Kyira is a natural born interviewer would be inaccurate; she’s a natural born conversationalist. As a long-time friend and guest on the podcast, I’m consistently in awe of her innate kindness, unrelenting curiosity, and ability to create spaces where difficult conversations can be explored with compassion and thoughtfulness. Ironically, I just finished listening to her wonderful short on the idea of “terminal uniqueness”. Though Kyira may disagree, I consider her and her dedication and gift for exploring human suffering and joy as certainly unique. This podcast spans the breadth of what it means to exist as a human; our joys, inescapable suffering, triumph, self-doubt, growth, love, hate, jealousy, and altruism. While we may not be “terminally unique”, each of Kyira’s episodes beautifully conveys the uniqueness of our stories. Through helping us understand each other’s stories, Kyira is helping us to better understand ourselves.

Kyira has such a soothing voice, making her so easy to listen to. She has a great way to pull stories from her guests and covering topics often difficult to discuss, but so important.
Kyira creates conversations that aren’t happening elsewhere

This podcast honestly surprised me. I’ve gotten to share my story on a number of podcasts over the years — from NPR and CBS to countless therapy podcasts. And this podcast stands out as one of my absolute favorites. The safety and non-judgmental curiosity Kyira brings to this podcast allowed for one of the deepest conversations I’ve ever had. I was sold. Now I’m an avid fan of this podcast and the in-depth, powerfully vulnerable and authentic conversations that happen here. Thank you!

I love how Kyira takes the conversation deeper to provide more vulnerability and insights. She keeps the conversation interesting and finds great nuggets from the people she interviews.
