The first Life is Strange is the game most responsible for the creation of Story Players. It had Josh and Joe mulling over the difficult decisions and sharing how they made them as soon as they finished playing each episode. It easily became one of Josh's all-time favorite games. When a prequel was released, Before the Storm, we made it the very first game to cover for this podcast. Don't Nod has released a new season, simply called Life is Strange 2, and the guys are back to give a full spoilercast.
Life is Strange 2 is not a direct sequel to the first game. It follows the journey of two brothers after a traumatic experience that feels like it came right out of the newspapers. It is still in the same universe as the other games though, including The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. That game is free and only takes about an hour to play. We also recorded a spoilercast for you to check out.
You can play Life is Strange 2 on every major platform except for Nintendo Switch. You can purchase the complete five-episode season for $39.99 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The first episode has also been included in Xbox Game Pass, so if you already pay for the $10/month subscription you can play for free.
