This week of The Global Current we had a discussion viewing the pro and anti side of assisted suicide, specifically following the story of an American woman in Switzerland who was the first to use an assisted suicide pod. Our analysts Riely Gonzalez and Willem Akian discussed this issue. Both analysts looked at different perspectives of the situation at hand. Willem focused on the reasoning that may support assisted suicide and the logic behind it. Riely outlined the opposing side, explaining the reasoning against assisted suicide. The news briefer, Lily Hudock, talked about Thailand legalizing same-sex marriage, Spain and Mexico’s strained relations, and the First Millennial Saint for the Catholic Church. Catch you on the waves next week!
