Take a Picture Walk

Mr. Taylor: Musser Public Library
Take a Picture Walk

A picture walk is most simply when one looks through a book and enjoys the story via the pictures (what nearly all kids do when looking at books). This reading practice can be used to identify characters within a story, look at the illustrations or to determine how engaging the topic is to the reader. The goal of this podcast is to capture the voice and ideas of the child and to document a child's excitement about something they are learning and or reading. Take a picture walk gives kids opportunities to share about a book that they have enjoyed through meaningful conversations. This podcast is designed to provide a snapshot in time to look back on while encouraging the curiosity and wonder of our little ones because sadly they do not stay little forever.
