Tim Carney: Does Society Not Support Parents?

Tim Carney: Does Society Not Support Parents?

In the ever-evolving landscape of modern society, the role of motherhood stands as a cornerstone, both cherished and complex. However, the lived experiences of mothers in America nod to a growing perception: that mothers lack adequate societal support. Some, including Tim Carney, argue that mothers are often left to navigate the complexities of raising children with minimal societal backing. Is that the reality? If so, what can we do?

Nick Robertson: Is Your Degree Financially "Worth It"?

A new study sheds light on this critical issue, revealing that not all academic paths lead to equal returns on investment. Nick Robertson discusses the findings with Boyd and what that means for current college students and alumni. While the pursuit of knowledge should never be solely about monetary gain, it is important for students and families to understand the economic implications of their educational choices.

Austin Sarat: Sore Loser Mentality in our Political Parties

In today's politics, a troubling trend that we see is an increasingly sore attitude towards losing. The medicine to cure the madness

There are so few news and media outlets that are not in the full apologetic and spin mode for one political side or the other that a measured and intellectually honest show such as Boyd’s is almost extinct or the last of it’s kind. Which is tragic because it is exactly what we need in our country right now! This show is exactly what it advertises itself to be and if we take what is preached here to heart it will go a long way to fixing the many and overwhelming problems we face as a nation.
