    Help From Within

The Mets are not officially a playoff contender until they hit the .500 mark. That said, Mike Silva talks about how they should look for help from within before dealing prospects for marginal upgrades. One name is knocking on the big league door, which might add an element the offense lacks. Listen and find out!

    100 mph

The Mets have won 11 of 15 and are surging into the playoff picture. J.D. Martinez and Francisco Lindor lead the offense, while Dedniel Nunez is surprisingly bolstering the bullpen. The real reason for hope? The 100 mph that Edwin Diaz showed during his Friday night’s save against San Diego.

    Strawberry's Message

    Strawberry's Message

Darryl Strawberry had a profound message for the 2024 Mets, David Stearns, and Steve Cohen. Mike Silva contrasts that with J.D. Martinez's “no pressure” statements after the team meeting earlier in the week. It’s time for the organization to use Strawberry’s challenge as a theme going forward when bringing players into the fold.

I Tried To Email You But It Didn’t Go Through.

I am 66 and not a sports fan in general, but I love baseball. I sent a long email explaining why but It didn’t get through and I don’t use social media. Nonetheless I am now a loyal listener since your podcast about the retirement of Dwight Gooden’s number.
He was so exceptional that he lured my mother back to baseball after 30 years of ignoring it (she had been a NY Dodgers and National League fan since 1943). And then my Mom gradually got me interested in baseball and taught me the basics of the game—while we watched the Mets and were equally astounded by the phenomenon known as Doc!
Your podcast about the ceremony was so much better than those of other podcasts and radio shows; it was on target and informative and a real tribute to a very special pitcher not just for the Mets but for baseball in general.
So thank you for doing it! I have been listening to your podcast during this past football season (I hate football) and will continue to listen now that the Mets are playing. I just hope they get into the postseason again before I am too old to appreciate it!

Good perspective

As you say I enjoy the show or I’d stop listening but MAN, the commercials have quintupled or more and the $ begging along with that… even without paying I feel like it’s a pay-to-listen show now… thankful for the 30 second advance button
