Who will Be the Rangers Next Closer

The closer role is always a hot topic in Major League Baseball—especially for a Bruce Bochy-managed team. This season, the Rangers head into spring training with questions swirling around who will lock down the 9th inning. While some teams are opting for a committee approach, it remains to be seen if Bochy will change his philosophy. In this episode, we break down the four in-house candidates fighting to become Texas’ next closer: Josh Sborz: Electric stuff and postseason experience, but ongoing health concerns could impact his availability.Jon Gray: Longtime starter with a fastball-slider combo perfect for high-leverage situations. Could a shift to the bullpen be in the cards?Chris Martin: Steady veteran presence and the most career saves among the group. His consistency might be exactly what the Rangers need.Marc Church: The intriguing young arm with huge strikeout potential, but command and a spot on the 26-man roster are lingering questions.Join us as we discuss Bochy’s bullpen strategies, how these pitchers might fit, and whether the Rangers will shake up their approach. Rangers Have One Last Gaping Hole to Fill

After a stunning World Series victory in 2023, the Texas Rangers faced a sobering reality in 2024, missing the postseason with just 78 wins. Now, the team is determined to return to contention, making bold offseason moves to reshape their roster. In this episode, we break down the Rangers' key acquisitions, including power bats Joc Pederson and Jake Burger, the underrated addition of Kyle Higashioka, and the re-signing of Nathan Eovaldi to solidify their rotation. But the biggest splash? A complete bullpen makeover with additions like Chris Martin, Hoby Milner, and others. However, the team still has one glaring hole: the closer’s role. With Kirby Yates and David Robertson still on the free-agent market, can the Rangers bring back one of their former stars or land another experienced option like Tanner Scott or Carlos Estevez? We discuss the importance of locking down this critical position and how it could make or break their chances in 2025. 💡 Join us as we analyze the moves, highlight remaining needs, and debate whether these changes are enough to crown Texas the team to beat in the AL West. Rangers Making Moves this Winter

The Texas Rangers entered this offseason facing a severe bullpen shortage after numerous relievers departed in free agency. While familiar names like José Leclerc, Kirby Yates, José Ureña, and David Robertson remain on the market, none have been seriously linked to a return to Arlington. But on Wednesday, FanSided’s Robert Murray reported that the Rangers took their first step in rebuilding the ‘pen by signing reliever Jacob Webb to a one-year deal. In this video, we break down what Webb brings to the table. We’ll cover his recent performance with the Baltimore Orioles, where he consistently delivered better-than-league-average results. His pitching arsenal—featuring a four-seam fastball, sweeper, and changeup—kept hitters off balance, with some pitches limiting opponents to a batting average as low as .125. This move is the latest in a flurry of transactions by the Rangers, who just added Nathan Eovaldi and pulled off a surprise trade for Jake Burger. Clearly, the organization isn’t satisfied with their 78-win 2024 season and is determined to improve. While the bullpen rebuild isn’t complete, adding Webb is an encouraging first step toward stabilizing a unit that ended last season near the bottom of the league in ERA. Stay tuned as we discuss what’s next for the Rangers and how they can continue to strengthen their bullpen heading into 2025.
