McTominay Double Sees Man Utd Beat Chelsea, The Pressure Piles On Cooper After Heavy Defeat To Fulham & Can Aston Villa Win The League?
It was a huge night of Premier League action which saw Manchester United deliver a solid performance to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford thanks to a brace from Scott McTominay to ease the noise around boss Erik Ten Hag. Aston Villa continued their impressive home form, making it 14 consecutive league wins at Villa Park by beating Manchester City 1-0 to leapfrog their opponents into third in the table. Jamie O'Hara and Dean Saunders discussed whether Villa are genuine title contenders. Elsewhere, there were wins for Brighton, Bournemouth and Liverpool, whilst Nottingham Forest suffered a heavy defeat away at Fulham to increase the pressure on manager Steve Cooper. We also look ahead to tonight's action with Everton facing Newcastle and Spurs entertain West Ham.
Finally, our beloved friend and colleague Russell Hargreaves sadly passed away over the weekend. Not only was he a brilliant commentator, reporter and presenter, he was simply the nicest person you could ever wish to meet and will be missed by so many. We end the podcast by paying tribute to him.
