Heather shares from her perspective as a mom and a professional photographer why it's so important to capture memories in photographs; and offers thoughtful ways to prepare for a photoshoot.

Today's guest is: Heather Eijzenga
There was a sudden rainstorm at the playground. Heather ran for cover and that’s when she saw it - a small camera, rusting under the slides. Water dripped from the viewfinder as she held it up to her eight-year-old cheek and saw the world in a frame for the first time. Although hooked on images, she didn’t set out to become a photographer. Instead, she went into biology, traveling and working in wildlife conservation until finally, ending up in Hawaii. After her son was born, she circled back to the viewfinder, which had been using to photograph wildlife, and started using it to photograph the wildest life of all - families. Heather loves the chaos, energy, and little gestures inherent to each family. She is fascinating how these movements can be so beautiful. Now, Heather has been photographing local and visiting families in Hawaii for over 12 years. She takes them on mini adventures where they play and explore. Best of all she sees their world in frame for the first time, and helps them see just how beautiful it is. hilittlebird.com
