Terror Talk - Exploring the Darkest Minds in True Crime and Horror

Criminal psychology meets the dark corners of true crime and horror cinema. Hosted by psychologists Shannon and Cathy, we dive deep into the twisted minds of serial killers, uncover the mysteries behind true crime documentaries, and explore the artistry of horror films and their creators. From ridiculous crimes and unhinged criminals to eerie cryptids, strange epidemics, and female psychopaths, no topic is off-limits. With our dark sense of humor and a conversational approach, we aim to entertain first and educate second—because sometimes the truth is scarier (and funnier) than fiction.
Dr. Death episode

I rarely post ratings or comments on podcasts, but I felt compelled to do so for this one. Since discovering about Dr. Death, I've been a little intrigued with his story. I've listened to almost every podcast about him and read numerous articles about him. This episode from you guys was the most honest critique I've seen of him. This is especially true when it comes to the reason why this individual was able to get away with so much. He perfectly fit the 'mold.' This historical mold and fascade of ‘what is male and white is right.' As a medical student pursuing a career as a neuroendovascular surgeon, I'm exposed to quite a lot of narcissistic people. There are a lot of Christopher Duntschs out there, white guys who hide behind ‘big words' (metaphorically and literally) and get by. It's a little terrifying how privilege unlocks doors for some undeserving people. His case is intriguing because, if he had been properly taught, I doubt he would have chosen to kill and damage so many people. The most terrifying part is that he didn't mind that he did. He just kept going. I know I'd resign if I botched more than 3 surgeries in a role. Especially if that surgery killed someone or paralyzed them. There are certain occupations that require you to be flawless and Neurosurgery is at the top of the list.
