We are not intimidating!
Incompetent! Can't get along with our peers, patients and family! Statements such as "FEELING unsafe around Black Nurses,"is a bigoted atrocity against us that's been tolerated far too long! The Black nurses are threatened BY White bosses and coworkers NOT towards them. We must remember that the higher ranking positions aren't diverse. Silence is a learned behavior amongst Blacks and a survival skill that needs unlearning.
NOW, let's talk about that BS.

You SPAT on me!! Uh ohhhhhhh!
As long as I have lived before nursing and as a nurse. I have not ever been spit on by any beings in my life! Black nurses take in a lot of hell, but this day showed an angry Black nurse. I've been called deplorable names, but never have I've been covered in spit!!!! I could not let it go!! I was so angry I cried and for those that knows me...that ain't good to do this to me!! Hear I go.......

In this nursing field you will have fools in all races. When it's your own race of people it makes you take a step back!! Well more than that, but it takes an exceptionally dumb ass to think that its OK to treat someone that's the same race as you to degrade you...2010 I was different and young...not in 2023!!!

WHY are we still treated as P.O.C's? People of Color..
"Whiten your name," they say..
"Lack of authority," you're Black...
"Diversified," they say...
As a person of color, I find that being in this medical field is challenging and not as diverse as they would have you believe.

FMLA Vacation!! Really.....
I have Ulcerative Colitis and flare-ups happens whenever it wants to. I was in the hospital...vacation my ass...if I was of another race..would this have been said? I don't think so...

Glorified Ass Wiper!!!!
Nurses do a lot for other people and we take a lot of abuse from people. They can be patients or coworker to a complete stranger. We are not paid our worth yet we still find that people are worthy of our help. Every now and then comes along jealousy and its brutal towards nurses! Well, sometimes that is brutal might send a nurse over the edge. Watch out!

Desperately Needed! But Difficult to follow and enjoy
I like this podcast. We really need black nurses talking about their experiences to help others! There aren’t many doing podcasts, and the ones that do fall off pretty quickly because it’s A LOT of work in addition to having a full time job. What’s keeping me from loving this one are the smaller details that combine together and make big problems. Music plays the whole time, and it’s so distracting and too loud sometimes. I feel there should be more organization to the topics/stories; It’s very stream of consciousness and hard to follow. There are also volume issues with the mic or recording device.
Rambling
I really wanted more from this podcast, but no. This lady sounds a little crazy.

I absolutely feel in love with this podcast the moment I heard the story of her Step Father and mother feeling Defeated by Ms Elsey....
I love this !!!! my daughter is graduating next year and we will be in nursing school together as well... and I just wanna say, Ms DeeDee you are amazing, you remind me of my daughter... her name is GiGi... and she get people correct and in order- the first time they take her for granted!!!!
