Great interview with Secretary Yellen
powerful Harris interview!

Ruhle should do all of the long form interviews. She’s very smart, she’s strategic, and she’s genuine. She didn’t let Harris off the hook, and her last question about trust was perfect.

Stephanie! Stop interrupting your guests!! You ask a question and then interrupt them when they’re answering. Other than that I like the podcast.

On The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle: Biden addresses nation for the first time since ending re-election bid, Jul 25, 2024, Stephanie Ruhle, who is normally strict about calling people out, allowed Susan Glasser, staff writer for The New Yorker, to spout prejudice about Joe Biden's stutter saying, "I think it was painful at times to listen to the speech." I wonder what Mrs. Glasser would feel if she had a child who stuttered. Would she listen in horror at every word that was misspoken or delayed? She also slipped in casually some ageism, saying it was Joe Biden's "hubris" because of "his original decision to run again in the first place at age 81." She said the President's speech was some sort of plot to "recast his decision now as a noble and selfless act at the end of a long and distinguished career in public service." When the Democrats help the Republicans win the election, where is it acceptable for older Americans to work, because they would love to get rid of Social Security? Do we all have to work as greeters at the grocery stores or can we use our life skills and wisdom to continue to help make the world a better place? I'd say if Biden was a grocery store greeter, he would be world famous, because he would hug every person that walked into the store! I'm just saying that shouldn't be our only option, since no one is immune to aging, agism should concern everyone. Finally, I'd like to say (before the freedom of speech has ended) the whole world has evidence of, and has watched for themselves Joe Biden's life as a selfless public servant for many years, and I totally reject this guest's distorted interpretation of the president's address to the American people saying, "we had Ben Franklin, we had Abraham Lincoln, all the greats that he loves to name check because I think he's so rooted in almost a worship for this office that he spent his entire adult life seeking only to now find himself in the position of being forced to relinquish it. He didn't quite acknowledge that political reality in the speech, but at the same time, his decision was both irrevocable." As far as The Supreme Court is concerned, Joe Biden is above The Constitution and The Magna Carta, and has more power than a king. He patriotically and selflessly gave us a fighting chance to continue our democracy. If you think he isn't slick enough to be our president, then we are in trouble. I think we should be more wary of people who deceive people with showmanship alone, lacking empathy, decency, and loyalty to our country.
