    Key Takeaways

    1) As Dabo Swinney says, "There's nothing less important than the score at halftime." After 40, many of us pivot from pursuing success to pursuing significance. Over the years, Dale has learned that living a meaningful life looks more like loving God, loving family, and obeying what He's called us to do.

    2) Jesus came to give us life. We can let our strivings cease and start living freely by knowing that we don't have to adhere to a particular set of rules just to measure up. Jesus loves you because He loves you. He doesn't love you because of what you've done, who you are, or how you perform.

    3) God doesn't need our help. God can accomplish whatever He wants, and He certainly doesn't need us to do that. However, He wants a relationship with us. Let Him pursue you!

Bridging The Minority Gap With Intentional Relationships w Hykeng Paul Episode 133

Bridging The Minority Gap With Intentional Relationships w Hykeng Paul Episode 133

In today’s episode, we’re catching up with Hykeng Paul, the Director of Unity and Diversity at Newspring Church here in South Carolina. As a black man who grew up in the AME church and then began attending a predominantly white church, Hykeng has a unique perspective on racial separation in congregations. He’s a wealth of knowledge about the history of the black church and what led us to where we are today.

During our conversation, Hykeng brings a welcome perspective to the table about why tackling this issue should be a priority in our churches and what we can do about it. He gives some practical first steps for pursuing unity—the first being just simply to start praying about it. Our open and honest conversation was a blessing to me, and I hope it will be to you.

The 10 Minute Bible Hour & Accepting God's Grace As A Pastor (w/ Matt Whitman & Aron Utecht) - Episode 131

The 10 Minute Bible Hour & Accepting God's Grace As A Pastor (w/ Matt Whitman & Aron Utecht) - Episode 131

Matt Whitman originally went to school to study law. After a family tragedy struck, he came home to fill in for his dad as pastor of their church, which took him down a path of ministry that led to the eventual creation of his popular podcast and YouTube channel. Each day, the Ten Minute Bible Hour podcast provides listeners with a “fast, fun, deep dive” into the Bible. And as you can probably guess, it’s only a 10-minute listen! Matt also has a YouTube channel, which offers video titles that range from “A Protestant Talks With A Catholic Priest” to “Who Picked What Books Went In The Bible?”Today, Matt and his co-worker Aron Utecht are talking with us about the weight of ministry, why it’s important to remember that the Gospel also applies to pastors, and why people are more drawn to “normal pastors” rather than “experts.” Our conversation with these guys was interesting and full of great thoughts—I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!   Show Notes:  https://www.95network.org/the-10-minute-bible-hour-accepting-gods-grace-as-a-pastor-w-matt-whitman-aron-utecht-episode-131/Support the show

Engaging In Social Media And What It Means For The Church (w/ Chris Martin) - Episode 129

Social media is undoubtedly a hot topic in the world today—in both secular cultures and our churches. So what does that mean for us as Christians? Should we embrace all social media has to offer or treat it as something that opposes our beliefs? Today, we’re talking with Chris Martin, who has spent more than a decade in digital and content marketing for businesses like Lifeway Christian Resources and Moody Publishers. His recently released book, Terms of Service: The Real Cost of Social Media, sheds light on how social media is a dominating force in our lives, how it affects us in ways we don’t even realize, and why we need to be cautious about how we engage with the internet. We’ll talk about how to live wisely while still engaging in social media. Plus, we’ll also talk about how we can use social media as a positive medium to reach the lost and how churches can benefit from spreading good news across these outlets. One of my favorites!

This is one of my favorite podcasts! Dale and Austin do a great job interviewing guests. They’re heart for eople and the church is evident and they’re offering a resource that truly helps the pastor and church succeed. Keep up the good work! I Iove it!

Pracitical and much needed

As a vocational minister at a small church, this is what I need. I love the conversations and espeically the context for the majority of the church that isn't glamorous or drawing all the attention like the "successful" churches that are huge. Thank you, Austin! You have another fan.

Wonderful resource

What a great resource for small-church pastors. It's easy for pastors to get discouraged in this day and time, so what a blessing to be able to be encouraged in their work by hearing from others who are dealing with the same issues.
