Presidential Debate: We Have Notes and Rebuttals

Presidential Debate: We Have Notes and Rebuttals

If you didn’t watch the whole 90 minute U.S Presidential debate, The Antoinettes have you covered. We are still deciding whether to laugh or scream over what transpired.
American Antoinette has many thoughts and some pressing questions about why exactly golf, porn stars, and name calling played such a big role in the debate.
The other Antoinette is a former debating coach and university debating champion -- and naturally she has a rebuttal and adjudication to deliver.
And of course -- The Antoinettes can’t agree on whether a game of Sudoku or a staring competition should determine who becomes President.

Who Is Most Likely To Join A Cult?

Who Is Most Likely To Join A Cult?

The latest cult making headline is a fascinating mixture of TikTok, popular dancers and a church and the fallout is playing out real time.
It is also alleged that ‘cults’ grew during COVID and some spread anti-vaccination ideas.
It’s easy to be judgy about people who get caught up in a cult, and make generalisations about who is most likely to be lured.
But you may be surprised about who is most likely to join a cult and why. In this episode, one Antoinette is considering joining a dance cult, while the other shares her journey when a cult tried to recruit her.

    Should We Ban Billionaires?

    Should We Ban Billionaires?

There are more billionaires than ever before. This comes at a time when the poor are getting poorer. In ‘Loot’ comedian Maya Rudolph‘s character gives away all her billions and helps save the world and her soul.
So why don’t we do this IRL and banish billionaires? Cutting their economic and political power is a popular idea among plebs like us, but how could it be done? And would innovation and employment suffer as a result?
This week we put the likes of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Gina Reinhart and even Taylor Swift on the chopping block - and you may be surprised by which Antoinette takes the biggest swing and which comes to the defence of the seriously cashed up.

Happy? Victorious? Hear How Lattouf Really Feels About FWC Verdict

The development is being beamed over TV and online here and abroad, but how does it feel to be at the centre of such a public legal feud? And is Antoinette celebrating this win? Azure Antoinette takes over as journalist in charge, and for once is the one handing out the tissues to her co-host.

Has Gaza Changed Our Trust In Media?

Has Gaza Changed Our Trust In Media?

There have been widespread and prominent failures of western media in its coverage of the October 7 attacks and the unfolding genocide in Gaza. From the meek reportage of the killing of journalists in Gaza, the circulation of unchecked war propaganda to punishing and muzzling of journalists who raise concerns about unfair reporting.
Truth is often seen as a casualty of war, but has audience trust also been obliterated? Can it ever be regained?
For months, millions have watched the annihilation of Palestinian civilians live streamed on their phones, as legacy media outlets face internal battles on how to cover incessant tge violence, political inaction against the backdrop intense pressure from lobbyists.
The Antoinettes examine the failures of 'objectivity' and if it should be replaced with 'moral clarity'. And one Antoinette questions if she needs to 'break up' with the media once and for all.
