Seth Ferranti
When writer / director Seth Ferranti received a twenty-five year LSD kingpin conviction, after faking his suicide and landing on the US Marshals Top-15 Most Wanted list, he thought his life was over. As a first time, non-violent offender, the lengthy sentence attracted media attention from The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, The Washington Times, and others.
Turning despair into drive, Ferranti earned an associates, bachelors, and masters degree while in prison and started penning prison and gangster stories for VICE, Don Diva, FEDS, Hoopshype and others. He became a true-crime publisher from the cell block and built a website and publishing house, Gorilla Convict, that documented stories that the mainstream media was not willing to share.
In February 2015, after serving 21 years, he was released from the Bureau of Prisons, to seek his fortune. Back in the world Ferranti continued his writing career as a journalist penning pieces for VICE, OZY, The Daily Beast, Dazed, MERRY JANE, and features for Penthouse and Real Crime Magazines, among others. He also embarked on his true passion, filmmaking.
Ferranti joined forces with Shawn Rech and Transitions Studios to make WHITE BOY, a top ten Netflix feature documentary on Richard Wershe Jr. Seth also starred in the season one finale of VICE’s I WAS A TEENAGE FELON. OMGosh - the episode with Ryan Tate and the work he does with VETPAW.org utilizing veterans to help protect African wildlife was remarkable. I was touched and inspired to learn about it and loved the platform Steve provided through his delightful and thought-provoking podcast.
I really enjoy hearing Steve as he shoots from the hip...and in a world that craves authenticity these days...that goes a long way in my book. Steve is passionate, smart as a whip, and does a magnificent job with his marketing and memorable branding so one can learn a lot from him! Oh - and I dig his accent too! I could listen to him all day.
I highly recommend this podcast to anyone wishing to be fired up in business and life!
