The Big Fat Santa Lie

Welcome back to the let’s be friends podcast for a special holiday episode all about Santa.

There are many tales behind Santa, but the tallest may be the big fat lie. The lie that Santa lives on the North pole and flies around the world on Christmas Eve delivering presents to a billion children. Santa magically enters homes through the chimney, after blasting through the night riding in a sleigh pulled by eight flying reindeer in the sky.  Santa is the "big fat lie" that fractures our minds at the most pivotal time, our youth.

In this episode I discuss the history of Santa Claus and how he is connected to the real Saint Nick. I take a look into how Santa became a normal part of our festive holiday culture, a perfectly placed distraction from what should be celebrated this day, the birth of Jesus Christ. 

I also discuss popular Christmas traditions like trees & mistletoe and conspiracies about the amanita muscaria, or is December 25th really Nimrod’s birthday, and is Santa just Satan?
