The CampHacker Podcast

This podcast was a lifesaver for me in my first year as a camp director. I didn’t grow up going to camp. I was only a counselor a few times. I felt lost in the world of summer camp. This podcast not only helped orient me by teaching me camp basics and industry language, but it gave me an appetite for professional development. One year later, I have implemented so many ideas from this podcast (and other professional development opportunities I learned about through the CampHacker network) that I really feel on top of my game. I’ve even gotten great feedback from veteran camp leadership, people who held this position before me, parents, and counselors. So grateful!

I just today discovered this podcast after being plugged in to the Camp Pros Facebook group for a couple months now. All I can say is bazinga! I’ve been working at the Y for 24 years doing day camps, caravan camps and the past 16 years as a camp director at a YMCA resident camp. I’m stoked to tap into this resource...I wish I knew this was around sooner.

Wonderful tool to use for camp! Great ideas that maybe you can apply now or maybe you will save for a rainy day to think back over. Either way this podcast helps get your mind going on new ideas and ways to problem solve. Wonderful job! Couldn't say enough good things about this podcast.

So many podcasts offer business advice that is so obvious and insulting. Not this one. There is "real meat" in every episode. Actual real life examples to implement. Real tools to use. I love also the conversations on "Camp is dead" and the other forward thinking episodes. Even though your camp might be reaching its goals, how can it reach parents and kids in a changing world.
