THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 1 TINA TURNER 1980

THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE

THE CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE Episode 1 features an excerpt from Carl's interview with Tina Turner in December of 1980.  When journalist Carl Arrington interviewed Tina at her LA home during this pre-comeback period in her career, she was still dazzling hotel and theater crowds, BUT the powerhouse performer had no record contract.  With savvy manager Roger Davies she sparked a plan to invade rock coliseums and become a world famous performer and movie star as Tina.  She prayed it would work.  (Spoiler alert: It did!)  Roger Davies can also be heard several times throughout this fascinating conversation with the music legend.

Excerpts from Carl’s full interviews with Tina Turner, more than six hours of recordings conducted over a twenty year period, were featured in the recent award-winning HBO documentary “TINA!”
