Great podcast for people new to archaeology

I think you should consider doing an episode on the women in archaeology and representation.
Disappointed

If you, like me, are currently a working CRM archeological technician you were undoubtedly excited to find a podcast that addresses the issues we face in this industry. Sadly we will have to keep looking, because this is not that show. If however you are looking for a show where company owners and Principal Investors complain about Facebook posts then dang it buddy you’re in the right place. In the most recent episode at the time of this review, Ep 265, the hosts pull out one such post in the Archeo field techs page asking the question “is there a disconnect between field and office personnel” and “should I feel guilty for sending crews out into unsafe conditions while I sit in an air conditioned office.” Instead of answering honestly the hosts claim that the office/field disconnect does not exist and that anyone who thinks that way is disconnected from reality. Nothing could be further from the truth, of course there is a difference between the work flows, hazards, and challenges involved in field work and office work. As a Principal Investigators and managers it is YOUR JOB to assure the safety of the archeologists working underneath you, and it is hard to do that from your office. This is the point I believe the original poster intended but this interpretation is completely and willfully ignored. The tone taken by the hosts tips me off to the fact these folks are probably nightmares to work for. People get sick or hurt doing this job, which can take them out of the field for months at a time, usually without pay and techs have died. Let's acknowledge the role of the office in sending people into those situations, techs don’t just magically appear in the field. Also you have recorded 265 episodes and yet your audio still sounds like trash. Please learn to balance your levels and maybe buy some better mics. As it stands I cannot recommend this show to any of my colleagues, luckily it’s unlikely they’ve heard of it anyway.
Essential Listening for the Industry

This might not be a good entry-point on archaeology for interested members of the general public, but it's absolutely a must-listen for professionals in the Cultural Resources Management industry.
