This podcast doesn’t try to be completist and cover every little movie and Hollywood product. They pick a few movies every few weeks and talk about them. They often inject politics into their discussions, but thats fine, it tells you where they are coming from as young Scottish people. The best thing is the banter between the three. They joke and sometimes mock the movies and each other. I like the extended, free form convos about specific genres or people- their superhero complaint episode from 2022 is one of the best takedowns of the modern Hollywood blockbuster mill, their Chalamet episode was really joyful talk about the emerging movie star of his generation. The David Lynch tribute recently was good. This is one of the best movie podcasts and should be more listened to. They are honestly too focused on Hollywood (I’m American and already know these movies) and don’t talk enough about European art films (there haven’t been many great ones recently). They did introduce me to Iranian films, etc.
