54 episodes

In these crazy days, I felt like we could all use some support, some community, some innovative people-side-of-the-business ideas, and of course, some cocktails. What started as a response to COVID19 has evolved into something much more meaningful. It's become an amazing group of people leaders from various industries who have come together as the world is changing to share ideas, some best practices, to learn from our mistakes, and build connection with others who are facing similar issues.

We are all about sharing at TCB. We share Learning & Development tools. We share updates to the legal landscape. We talk about issues facing our employees and our leadership teams. We interview innovative People Leaders who have cutting edge ideas. Oh, and we laugh. A lot!

I know what you're thinking. What is this thing? Is it another Zoom meeting? Is it a Podcast? Is it a show? What in the world am I getting into? It's all of those things and none of those things. It's a forum for ideas, meeting similar folks, and finding a little bastion of sanity in an exceedingly complex world. It's a breath of fresh air, and a respite from your grueling schedule - where you'll be in great company, and probably take away a few things that you can use at work...and in life each episode.

If you are an HR or People Leader in your organization, this is the place for you. You are welcome here!

The Corporate Bartender - I Don't Understand: Navigating Unconscious Bias with Buki Mosaku

What's up everyone and welcome to The Corporate Bartender!
I keep saying it, the AMAZING episodes just. Keep. Coming! DEI is one of the most prominent HR themes here in 2023. Organizations are wrestling with how to balance DEI initiatives with tactical day to day operations. There are voices in this conversation that need to be elevated, and boy do we have one of those voices here with us TODAY! We are so grateful, and just flat-out honored to have Buki Mosaku on the program! If you don't know Buki, no worries, today's your lucky day!
Buki is the founder and CEO of DiverseCity, a workplace bias and DEI consultancy. He is one of the world's foremost bias-navigation experts. He has cracked the code for calling out unconscious workplace bias, and stopping it in its tracks! He's a consultant, speaker, coach, and the author of I Don't Understand: Navigating Unconscious Bias in the Workplace.
Buki joined us from London, and because we do the show "live" he stayed up until after midnight to have this AMAZING conversation. We had a few issues with his transatlantic video (it resolves about 20 minutes in), but the audio is on point, throughout.
This conversation was quite literally my FAVORITE of 2023 (so far), and I think you're all gonna really dig it!

A custom- tailored tonic for HR

Eric and Lori have created a brilliant mix of community, heart, and laughter for anyone in need of it (and who in HR doesn't need it?). I loved being a guest, and felt instantly at home. Keep going! Brilliant.

Positive, useful, and funny!

Eric and Lori have created something really special with their show. As a guest, it is like walking into a community and having them treat you like a part of the group from the start. They ask great questions, share thoughtful on point comments and keep things light-hearted and fun at the same time. They are also really good at focusing the conversations on topics that are relevant to listeners in HR and beyond.
